About Face Design Selected for 2011 Philadelphia Design Awards

Children Learn What They Live Mural

About Face Design is pleased to announce that its Children Learn What They Live mural design, installed at Maria de los Santos Health Center, has been selected to appear in the 2011 Philadelphia Design Awards (PDA) edition.

About Face Design’s Children Learn What They Live Mural is an extension of  a project for Institute for Safe Families’ public service campaign for children’s health. Installed at the Maria de Los Santos public health center in North Philadelphia, the mural and subsequent campaign were inspired by Dorothy Law Nolte’s classic poem, Children Learn What They Live. Colorful, graphic blocks with snippets of the poem in Spanish and English welcome families as they enter the health center.

“We are so proud of this accomplishment, as this is one our office’s favorite pieces,” notes Peter Camburn, Visual Director, About Face Design.

An exhibition of the Philadelphia Design Awards will run from June 6 through June 30, at The University of the Arts, Rosenwald-Wolf Gallery, in Philadelphia. A closing reception will be held Friday, June 24, 2011, from 6-8pm. This reception is open to the public and all are welcome to attend.
